Baking Powder

Good Baking Powder

Consisting of:

• Sodium bicarbonate (E500, Natriumhydrogencarbonat aka Natron)
• Disodium pyrophosphate (E450, Dinatriumdihydrogendiphosphat aka Dinatriumdiphosphat)
• Maize Starch (Maisstärke)

Disodium pyrophosphate can be replaced by Potassium bitartrate aka "Cream of tartar" (Weinstein).

Bad Baking Powder

Bad baking powder uses Sodium aluminium sulfate instead of Disodium pyrophosphate. This gives a bitter taste. Aluminium causes Alzheimer's disease and cancer.
